Founded in 1998, Praiseworthy Affirmations has been providing unique and creative gifts for over 27 years.

These poems and affirmations are written to encourage, affirm, and cultivate positive thoughts and change based on the biblical truths of  God’s word, in the Holy Bible.  Praiseworthy Affirmations are statements of faith that declare that something is or is to be.

Founded on Biblical Principles

• Philippians 4:8 states that whatsoever is praiseworthy, think on these things.
• Proverbs 7:3: states"Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.
• Proverbs 23:7 states that as a man thinks in his heart so is He.
• Romans 12:2 states “Be ye transformed by the word of God. Romans 12:2
• Ephesians 4:21-24 states “assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭21‬-‭24‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The Making of a Greeting Card and Inspirational Gift Company

• From a very early age, I have had a love for words. 
• I would read the dictionary to discover and learn new words.
• I also loved rhyming words. So I would read and memorize books that had content that rhymed or was rhythmic or whimsical.
• When I was in the 4th grade, with my teacher’s encouragement, I entered and won the local elementary school spelling bee. It was so much fun taking my Spelling Bee script book with me everywhere as I studied the words. 
• As early as the age of 12, I had a love for poetry. When in elementary school, I remember rushing to the poetry books on the class Library day so that I could read the most recent edition of the Ideals Magazine.  They were themed by the seasons and full of poetry. I would also check out poetry books from the local Public library. 
• I thought it was the coolest thing that I was able to take books home and read them. Receiving my first library card was a memorable day. I walk home for several blocks carrying 10 library books. 
• In earlier days I had a love for reading poetry, it only seemed natural to begin doodling and writing poetry and songs, on any occasion that I could in high school and as a young adult. 
• My tenth-grade English teacher told me that I wrote very well. 
• I write a class song for my High school graduating class.
• My technical school instructor after reading my assignments said I should consider writing.
• In the Army, I wrote a song in memory of our 8 challenging weeks of basic training. I was asked to sing it aloud while in formation for the company leadership. 
• In college, I was asked by my professor to read my essays aloud for the class and I would receive applause each time.  Once I wrote a fictional essay that the professor loved so much that when he discovered that it was not a true story he was so disappointed that He insisted that I write it over or he would lower my grade and he spoke this in front of the whole class. 
• I took a creative writing class at the local college and was told by the instructor that I spoke in rhymes sometimes, especially in class because of all of the creative energy.  She said “I don’t even think you are aware of it.
• After marriage and delivering my fifth child, I was at home a lot and the poems would just come to my mind and would not quiet until I would take pen to paper and write my thoughts down. I would start the poem and as soon as I had a quiet moment, I would finish it later in the day. So much so that I kept pen and paper nearby all the time and a notebook on my nightstand. 
• Originally, I thought the poems were just for me for my encouragement as a mother. I soon found out that they were two-fold. They encouraged me but they also encouraged others as gifts and were profitable. 

This eventually turned into Praiseworthy Affirmations. The business that you are visiting today. I have written for friends, neighbors, and acquaintances for gifts and for commission. It continues to be a joy. 

I now have poetry prints,  affirmations, plaques, greeting cards, inspirational books, children’s books, inspirational gifts, and apparel that have grown and materialized from this gift.  They are written for all seasons and occasions.

My love for words, books, and poetry has honed the desire and gift to create and write positive words of encouragement. 

My motto is if it’s not positive or praiseworthy I don’t want to write it.
